It appears that they never did what was needed.....

The catch fences are still not the right height.... The sand trap is still pol-vaulting the cars over the fencing because it's not right either....

There is lots of blame now to be pointed at everyone....

At the nhra for lack of mandating a 2nd chute...
Lack of mandating 4 wheel brakes
Lack of involvement of the shut down areas at the tracks they visit.

Lack of mandating a specific system in place for all tracks....

A system that incorporates sand or gravel... that is level to the racing surface and very gradually increases it's grade to the 1st fence

The 1st fence should be 8 times taller then the tallest vehicle to use the track

The catch fences should be on a roll out style drum that is brake equipped and has 70' of run out before engaging the next catch fence that is set up with more braking force and has 100' of run out before engaging the next fence that is even double that braking force and has 100' of run out and a positive stop.

Any track that doesn't have that much is not safe for any Pro-Mod, rail of any type, f/c , alky or fuel..... even the outlaw stuff could become an issue
